LT - Leadership Technology

Fundamentally, leadership is about embracing chaos, change and unpredictability; while management is about establishing control (and controls), stability and predictability. These are different orientations about the same outcome - organizational success. It is possible for a single individual to organize themselves to both orientations in alternating moments. Which orientation the individual wears are functions of the situation and context, the requirements and desires of the organization and the role they are operating from at the time. It is also possible to specialize in one or the other orientation.
  • Leaders set a direction for the organization and cope with change, operating from a future-based orientation - i.e.: about where the organization "will be" - seeking to identify patterns and establish a trajectory for success.

  • Managers apply the organization's resources to generate results and cope with complexity, operating from a present-tense orientation - i.e.: about where the organization "is now" - seeking to identify the most appropriate responses and seize the opportunities that are present while creating opportunities for the future.

Leadership Technology provides an integrated management/leadership developmental training curriculum covering personal professional development, organizational behavior/design and professional communications. We strongly recommend presenting the programs in the following sequence:

  • LT - Personal Leadership in conjunction with LT for Emerging Organizational Leaders - [to be delivered between six and twelve months apart as a foundation for management/leadership].

  • Followed by, Contextual Leadership, LT - Leadership Learning Laboratory and LT - HSD (Human Systems Design) - [to be attended on a yearly basis in an ideal learning situation].
